The work of one of Australia’s best-known photographic artists, Bill Henson, has gone on show in Paddington, with a special solo exhibition launched at the stellar Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery. “In a career that has spanned more than 40 years, Henson’s extraordinary images are in contrast and counterpoint to the tumult and opinionation of our times,” the gallery says of the exhibition. “The images seem to have an analogue with the power that arises in the paintings of the Old Masters.” The pictures are indeed dazzling, and feature both portraits and landscapes. On until April 30.
