Scarves of the earth

Paddington-based textile artist Margot Design has released a new beautiful new collection of wearable art pieces.

Called the Treasures, the new collection comprises exquisite scarves that work with an Australian botanical theme.

“All designs in the collection began as hand drawings during lockdown,” says Margot. “It was a strange experience being in my little one-bedroom cottage in Paddington after being in the freedom of the Australian bush. The result is a collection of exclusive prints on a beautiful silk and wool base cloth with hand fringing.”

The range is lovely, with scarves priced at $300.

“Each scarf is a story of a beautiful part of our country and our little adventure, which has filled both our hearts for the love of our country and the desire to explore more.

“After travelling internationally I have intentional chosen to tell my stories about the country I love on fabrics that you can wrap yourself in.

“All designs are created by hand and printed in Sydney, with thought and consideration going to the fabric they are printed on, the size and finishing — which will help make the stories come alive.”
