Butter up
The nation’s most celebrated patisserie is opening a branch on Oxford St. Melbourne’s Lune Croissanterie will take up residence in the Oxford & Foley development taking shape in Darlinghurst, near Taylor Square. The patisserie, which some claim offers the world’s best croissants, is expected to be trading by mid-2023.
The redevelopment of the heritage buildings on the northern side of Oxford St is part of a repositioning of the thoroughfare between Hyde Park and South Dowling St. The buildings are being raised two levels in height, renovated and re-tenanted in a bid to revitalise a flagging part of Darlinghurst.
Lune founder and director Kate Reid says the site, at 60 Oxford St, is perfect for her first Sydney venture.
“We could not be more thrilled to have secured this marquee space in the beautiful Oxford & Foley development. We can’t wait to show the world what we have in store for Lune Sydney.”
