Two-up traditions

ANZAC Day is one of the busiest days of the year for Paddington’s heritage pubs.

There’s something about sitting in a watering hole that’s been around since before World War I to bring on the nostalgic Aussie vibes.

Many of our local pubs are playing Two-up on the day.

At the Paddo Inn on Oxford St, the doors will open at 10am and Two-up will commence at noon. The Paddo Inn’s Il Baretto restaurant will be converted into a giant two-up ring with live music.

Doors at the Royal Hotel in Five Ways will open at 9am, with Two-up played on Broughton St.

The Lord Dudley on Jersey Rd will also have a Two-up arena, plus $6 Sydney lagers and Aussie burgers.

The London is opening at 11am for Two-up and will have $20 jugs and $7 schooners of Furphy’s.

It promises to be a great day, let’s hope for nice weather.
